Bike Tours on Oahu Hawaii
- Oahu can be considered a bike friendly place with so many locals choosing a bike for transportation. Biking is popular in Hawaii with its pleasant weather and its peoples desire to be fit. There are bike tours of the Koolau Range with many trails suited for mountain biking, and Oahu coastal rides. Most people wont want to try a long extended bike ride and instead find that they enjoy exploring Waikiki and its outer areas like Diamond Head, Ala Moana Beach Park. When renting a bike in Waikiki you usually can chose between half-day and full-day rentals. If you want to rent a fancy full suspension mountain bike it will cost more.
One tour that is great fun is coasting down a mountain. There are tours that start 1,800 feet above Waikiki and you coast downhill on paved road while viewing scenic Waikiki. Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in a van and drive you to the high elevation and you coast to the bottom.
Please remember that if you try to do your own bike exploration deep within the island that it can be easy to get lost, ride on private land, be involved in minor mudslides, and dangerous cliff edges. Its always good to ride with people that know the area if possible.
