Oahu Hawaii Accommodations
- Oahu offers a wide variety of Hotel and Resort Accommodations based on price, location, views and amenities. The Honolulu - Waikiki area is the center cluster of all Oahu Hotels and Resorts. It will take extra effort to find lodging outside this area, and there really isnt a reason to do so. Waikiki is where to stay on Oahu.
In Waikiki you will find a wide selection of accommodation price ranges. From budget hotels to very luxurious resorts. A budget hotel is for the cost conscious traveler who wants a clean comfortable hotel without paying for extra amenities. Moderate hotels have larger rooms and more amenities and public facilities like a restaurant. Deluxe hotels have first class full service with a wide variety of room amenities and high quality public facilities. Luxury hotels are for those who seek world class lodging with a beachfront location and the highest standards of service and comfort.
Another variable when considering Oahu Accommodations is proximity to the beach. Being one or two blocks away from Waikiki Beach does not sound like a big deal, but price wise it is. Hotels on Waikiki Beach command a larger price then a similar hotel off the beach. The couple of blocks you have to walk to get to Waikiki Beach is so pleasant that it should not be the only factor in choosing a hotel.
Another variable when considering Oahu Accommodations is the room view. This is real important to the pricing of Waikiki hotel rooms. City views are the least expensive, basic rooms. There is no view of the ocean. While the lowest cost view, there are opportunity of a mountain view (when facing North and no other hotels are blocking the view) and also the city is so spectacular at night. The next higher view is a Partial Ocean View. A Partial Ocean View means you can stand on your lanai (balcony) and see some ocean. These rooms are generally facing East or West. The next most expensive views is an Ocean View. An Ocean View offers a full view of the Pacific Ocean. The most expensive room view is an Ocean Front View. With an Ocean Front View you are right on the beach with nothing blocking your view of the Pacific Ocean.
